About Us

Who we are

No Fuss Finishes is a robotic cabinet door manufacturer and painting service located in Comox Valley, British Columbia. We are a family-run business embarking to establish the first Vancouver Island manufacturing company specializing in production of one-piece painted MDF cabinet doors.

Our Vision

No Fuss Finishes is keen on setting the industry standard for quality painted cabinet doors and to provide our customers with the highest quality finish every time. Reputation is key, and our goal is to be the best at what we do.

Who is our customer?

Our customer is a contractor, interior designer, custom cabinet maker or a meticulous DIYer and homeowner who is looking for quality, ready-to-install painted doors. Our objective is to save you time, improve your business efficiency and lower your production cost by providing you with consistent, high-quality product.

Automation

We utilize computer numerical control (CNC) machinery to cut out our doors and a robotic finishing flatline technology to spray paint our finish. This guarantees consistently excellent finish every time.

Why MDF ?

MDF has a smooth, uniform surface, providing an ideal canvas for painting and finishing work. This results in a seamless and polished appearance, making it suitable for a wide range of design preferences. MDF is known for its durability and resistance to warping or cracking, ensuring that your cabinet doors will maintain their integrity over time.

Why 1-piece vs 5-piece doors?

With no joints or seams, one-piece doors are less prone to warping and splitting compared to doors with multiple pieces. They are more cost-effective due to simpler production processes and less material wastage.

Paint

We spray water based SHER-WOOD® 5421W Gen II Universal Primer and SHER-WOOD® EA Hydroplus Waterborne Topcoat for their low odour and excellent finish.

Why do we spray water-based?

Oil-based paint has been the industry standard for decades but in the last 15 years there has been a real shift in switching to water-based paints to reduce health and environmental risks associated with volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in household paints. Water-based paint technology has become prominent in Europe, with its adoption gradually increasing in North America as well.
